We are raising funds to provide children with access to necessary social and health services within the impoverished villages of Armenia, in hopes to create a higher standard of living.
COVID 19 Project
Noyemberyan is the home to a group of valorous women who run Sarkis Zurabyan School for preschool children. Not only are they facing the dire reality of the COVID-19 coronavirus, but they also deal with unwarranted attacks by Azeri soldiers on the border.
These border villages are the life force of Armenia. They ensure both the security and preservation of the country. These women face the unimaginable battle of military aggression and healthcare insecurity and is something that we will forever admire.
A wonderful fundraising appeal by Wenona School ensured that masks, sanitisers, disinfectants, other hygiene necessities, and educational resources were supplied to Sargis Zurabyan School.
Armenian Children’s Fund Christmas Appeal
Sargis Zurabyan School Noyemberyan, Christmas Appeal: One of our greatest pleasures was organising Santa to deliver presents to our beautiful children at Sargis Zurabyan School!
Sargis Zurabyan School
We delivered six brand new bunk beds, made locally in Noyemberyan, for Sargis Zurabyan School. Two years ago, the Fund had 40 beds made; however, due to the Fund's ongoing contribution and the generosity of our supporters, the number of students has increased. As such, we are thrilled that we could once again assist in supplying the beds for the children.
Martuni Christmas Appeal
Travelling through treacherous mountainous roads with snow, fog and ice, we visited 10 schools including 1 kindergarten, to distribute gifts to over 500 children across Martuni region in the Republic of Artsakh, 30 minutes from Stepanakert.
These children have experienced both pandemic and war, and to see the smiles on their beautiful faces brings joy to us all.
To our supporters, friends and donors, thank you for the massive support. We are so incredibly grateful!
Thank you to our friends and donors that made this very special project happen! Over 90kg of presents were delivered to the students at the Dilijan Boarding Institute and Sargis Zurabyan School, just in time for Christmas! A special thanks to the Armenian Missionary Association of Australia and Armenia (AMAA), who ensured the safe delivery of the gifts to the children.
Aygut High School
The Fund was able to completely renovate and redo all the plumbing work for the girls and boys bathroom at the only High School in the village of Aygut.
This village is located at the north of Lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia and has over 150 students. Their toilet facilities before our assistance were in a very poor and unsanitary condition.
In 2018, we successfully raised enough funds to purchase Dilijan Boarding Institute new bed linen, sun hats, stationery, food and toys for the children. These simple items that we often take for granted in Australia were able to brighten the lives of the children within the orphanage, and we hope to continue to ship these items on an annual basis.
Later that year, we were able to locally purchase 103 school shoes for students, on top of socks, electrical items, sporting equipment, games and educational books.
Sargis Zurabyan School
A 450km journey to Sargis Zurabyan School in Noyemberyan, which is a village pre-school located 2km from the hostile Azerbaijan border.
Classrooms and bathrooms were guttered and completely renovated, a new central heating system installed, books and toys purchased, and new beds, lockers and bed linen ordered. All in time for the new school year!
Mini Van Appeal
This mini van has been life changing for the staff and children at the orphanage. It allows for the children to be taken out on various excursions and to be taken 'home' during the school holidays to visit and spend time with their extended families who live in the surrounding villages.
13 Years on, the minivan has been well loved and proven to have a significant impact on the livelihood of the children who live in the orphanage.
